The Bible says...

Obama is the antichrist.

"... He will speak against the Most High and oppress his holy people and try to CHANGE the set times and the laws." Daniel 7:25

Eric, you can do better than this. Prooftexting isn't a serious response. The beauty of the text I provided is that it's proverbial wisdom literature, intended to be applied broadly to a range of circumstances. It's application to the election is at least as warranted as any argument that sees Obama's youth and good judgment as more valuable than McCain's hardass approach to foreign policy.

There's absolutely no good reason to identify Obama with the antichrist, based on this or any other text. But there is plenty of good reason to take seriously the general wisdom of this proverb during the time of an election. There are ways to disagree with me, but blind prooftexting isn't a serious rebuttal. It implies that this verse from Ecclesiastes is nothing more than a misapplied prooftext, and that's simply not true.

Hmm, I wonder if the Bible has anything say about the relationship between wisdom and age/experience...

Proverbs 16:31 "Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained by a righteous life."

Job 12:12 "Wisdom is with aged men, with long life is understanding."

Job 32:7 "Age should speak, advanced years should teach wisdom."

Deut. 32:7 "Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations."

Of course, we shouldn't vote for John McCain just because he's old. We should vote for him because he's proven himself to be a worthy leader. Can't we all be proud of the way he's publicly rebuking those supporters of his who are making silly and offensive comments at his rallies? All the while Obama's supporters prefer to affiliate him with the ignorance of his voters, i.e. John Lewis.

And of course Obama isn't the antichrist; Kirk Cameron hasn't been raptured yet.

Ok Eric your Kirk Cameron quote was one of the funniest things I have ever heard.
