How Did It Start?

Jason and I were talking last night about Settlers, and we were wondering: How did the Settlers craze begin? We couldn't remember who to credit. Does anybody remember the beginning of the Settlers saga?

I learned how to play Settlers while in the middle of absolutely nowhere India from two Canadian missionaries. They taught me Settlers and Seafarers. I asked my parents for the games for Christmas the next time I talked to them. I brought them to Wheaton, we got hooked about 2 or 3 weeks in and never turned back.

We figured it was probably your doing, Devin. Thanks for solving the mystery.

That's what I do. On that note, has anyone played Traders and Barbarians? I own it, and my mom has made an additional 12 bags for me cause she's awesome, but haven't got to play much. That needs to change...

Jason and I still don't have that one. We've been playing Ticket to Ride pretty much nonstop since his birthday, though. It's pretty frickin sweet.

Did you guys get the US version or Europe? We have US, but I really want to play Europe!

Why aren't we having a reunion, like... NOW?!

We got the Europe version. It was a little annoying at first to have to scour the board to find places, but now, I could totally be a Europe tour guide. I know exactly how many trains it takes to get from Warsaw to Smolensk and Lisboa to Danzic.

And yes...reunion. When/where are we going to do that? Jason and I are flying to Chicago for Braden and Christy's wedding. Unfortunately, that just might be our whole flight budget for the summer. :o/ So...reunion in Jersey??? :o)
